the word itself explains what it is about. behes is a debate competition 

 

"Behes' follows a format that is fairly new in India and allows debaters a lot of freedom to express themselves. Designed to be extremely free-flowing, a Behes debate often sees a wide variety of facts, stats, rhetoric and argument exchanged by both teams in a bid to move on to the next round.

The format leads to a growth in research, analytical, collaborative and linguistic skills, apart from our participant's oratory faculties. In short, a season of Behes will put you in touch with a world of knowledge, teach you how to use it and talk about it brilliantly.(Without boring you)"

i have been to behes twice, and i have qualified both the times for maha-behes which is another stage of behes in which people from the whole country come and debate. the last time I could'nt go to maha-behes due to some personal team reasons but i will be going this year i.e 2022. which is yet to happen

my experience.

the first time: due to covid, it was online and i enjoyed debating, there were many challenging debaters and the topics too were great. the resources did not only help me "behes" (pun intended), but also helped me learn about psychology and also helped me find my interests. it helped me learn about how humans react to situations i.e fight or flight reactions. i was really happy on the result day since our team qualified behes and our names were on it. this was the first time for me to participate in a debate competition.  

the second time: this time it was offline and boy i miss those two days, best days of 2022 so far, so we decided to go to behes on the end moment and we were like yeah lets go and debate offline and the next day we started our practice, we were obviously doing bad in the starting because it has really been more than a year since we debated but then slowly we got better. i named our team momos chutni casually because i had nothing in my mind to name it. on the first day i woke up at 6 and got ready and got off to school till 7:30. i met my friends and we were hanging out in the school till 15 mins, then we got into our bus and started talking and listening to songs. in less than 20 mins we arrived at the school, it was really big and gave a mordern school vibe, the corridors, mess, auditorium were great the school was full ac and the students were kind and helpful too. we sat in the auditorium and they started playing music and yes they had a great music taste, they played sunflower, do i wanna know and some songs by AL
T-j. it was literally "the" moment. the behes manager ha
d a nice humor too and then we went to a place for breakfast, the breakfast was mid and after that we went to our debate rooms, we sat normally and we found out that we'll be debating with our school team itself. we debated and had laughs and then it was the end of the day and i really wished it was longer. 

the second day, was the same, fun it was in the end when we realised that we too, have been qualified for behes.(which is kind of funny)
